What is Determiners ( নির্ধারক )

■ What is Determiners ( নির্ধারক ) ?

● There are some words that fix the nouns that follow them. অর্থাৎ এমন কিছু শব্দ আছে, যাদের অনুসরনে বিশেষ্য (Nouns) গুলিকে স্থির বা নির্দিষ্ট করে, এই জাতীয় শব্দকে নির্ধারক বলা হয়। ( Such words are called determiners.)

● যেমন – a, the, an, which, some, many, this, your, our, any, every, all, third, a little, neither, three etc.

● Example –
|Some| boys are playing.
এখানে Determiners হল Some যা Noun (Boys) কে স্থির বা নির্দিষ্ট করেছে।

● কী করে এটি হচ্ছে দেখোঃ-

□ যদি এরকমটা লেখা হত –
Boys are playing. (ছেলেগুলি খেলা করছে ।)
– এখানে Boys বলতে অনেকগুলি ছেলের কথা বলা বোঝানো হয়েছে।
– যখন Boys এর আগে Some যোগ করা হল – তখন এর অর্থ পরিবর্তিত হয়ে গেল।
– |Some| boys are playing. (কিছু সংখ্যক ছেলে খেলা করছে।)

– এখানে Noun (boys) কে নির্দিষ্ট সংখ্যক বা স্থির করে বোঝাচ্ছে।
